Ladies and gentlemen,

My name is dary Muhammad putra. But, you can call me dory. I’m from indonesia and this is my first post in medium.

Womens march history:

Nowadays, people live in the middle of modern world and also technology everywhere. Behind this growing population of human being and the developing of internet, injustice and discrimination to women are not finish until now. This issues becoming bigger and bigger. The gender bases, the gender biases, marginalization, men dominating in every single aspects, etc are serious issues to deal with. Or in another word, there’s no gender equality.

Womens march are a demonstration that all feminists from around the world united to raise their voices to change men paradigm to women and create an equality between men and women.

The first womens march was started in 1913, when president of united states of America in this era, mister Woodrow Wilson, the women to prosecute the president to give their rights to involve in the election day.

In 1970s until 1980s, all women who come from all united states also insist to the government to do a soon as possible to amandement the equal rights law. The women see, that the regulation of united states law about equality rights are not that fair. So, the women decided to do a march.

In 2000, when America celebrate mothers day, all mothers from all across region of united states do a march in Washington to sue an advocate to resticter a gun use. Because, all mothers see that people using gun for a wrong purposes.

in 2004, all womens marches in Washington to raise their voices to against mister Bush policies about womens health rights issues.

on 21st of january 2017, for a long time in america’s history, all women, men, celebrities, and all groups of age, race, ethnicities, religions and beliefs, and all kind of backgrounds of people are gathered in the washington D.C to protest the policies of donald trump that sexist and also just give a disadvantage to the minorities.

Womens march in Indonesia:

Alangkah besar bedanya bagi masyarakat Indonesia bila kaum perempuan dididik baik-baik. Dan untuk keperluan perempuan itu sendiri, berharap lah kami dengan harapan yang sangat supaya disediakan pelajaran dan pendidikan, karena inilah yang akan membawa bahagia baginya.

-R.A Kartini

on march 4th 2017, will become the first time in Indonesia’s history there will be the first womens march in Indonesia. the cases of gender discrimination and rape are increasingly high since 2013. not only rape, sexual harassment and domestic violence also increasingly high in the same year.

injustice, discrimination, violence, harassment, and all kind of things that just give a negative impact to women and just create more gap between men and women itself.

indonesian people mostly are closed minded and never try to open their mind to a western world. conservative family concept, a patriarchal mindset in the governmental policies and laws, men dominating in the politic seats, and all close minded stuff that indonesian people that didn’t realize it. mostly, people just following the rules or policies that government create. but, they didn’t see the consequences from the law itself.

there’s 8 resolutions that will proposed in the womens march:

a. create a peaceful condition and tolerance to indonesia. not only in cultural aspects but also in the peace and security of the nation.

b. decrease the number of discrimination cases in indonesia.

c. respect other religions and beliefs in indonesia.

d. delete a bad stigmas and/or bad images to the minorities, such as: LGBTQIAP+ community, the indigenous people, and all minorities.

e. give a freedom rights and protection to the minorities and women itself.

f. validating the traditional beliefs in indonesia to become the part of the country.

g. against and prevent racism, sexism, and all kind of conflict that only give a disadvantage to other people.

h. sue the government to re-amandement the laws about protecting minorities, traditional beliefs, and womens rights.
