One of the few spots in ellensberg with more than one vegetarian option/affordable and fun vegetable heavy menu items!
Brussel sprouts were probably the highlight! Large portion, flavorful, hell yeah baby cabbages. Can get a side added to most entrees for $2.50, but note for those that don't include sides (e.g. tacos) you'll end up paying $10 for a full portion, whoops
Veggie burger was ok! As most homemade veggie patties are, a lil squishy and bland. Carnitas fries were loaded and flavor packed from what I saw! Appreciated the fajita veggies on the shrimp taco special
Good outdoor space, just lacked space heaters. But plenty of indoor seating (phat 8 top in the center, then lots of 2/4 tops) and a nice lil colorful bar space. Would come back!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 28, 2024
Tried the Philly Cheesesteak but with a twist. No bread but served on top of fries. Different but I would have preferred on a traditional roll. Also, lots of onion and peppers that outnumbered the tiny bits of "steak." Lacked the seasoning I would have expected based on the menu's description.
Had the house salad which was fresh and plentiful
Service was good.
No complaints really but just wasn't impressed enough to come back.
$32 for what you see in picture including tip. A bit overpriced.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 392335408Dec 5, 2023
Decided to grab a late lunch at The Red Pickle while we were staying in Ellensburg for the weekend for a music festival. Since it was hot outside, the outdoor seating area was open, in addition to having seating inside the restaurant. There wasn't any staff member outside when we came, so we went inside and then escorted to a table outside. It was really hot and smokey that day, unfortunately, but we didn't mind being seated outside since it was also hot inside.
My friend ordered the Philly Cheesesteak (beef marinated with Guatemalan spices, sriracha mayo, onions, green peppers, and a blend of shredded Monterey jack and cheddar cheese, served on a hoagie roll) with a side of rosemary fries along with the Charcoal Lemonade. I ordered the Gauchito (one beef burger patty marinated with chimichuri sauce served on a bun with american cheese, lettuce, and sriracha mayo) with a side of rosemary fries.
Overall, the food and service were good! Just make sure to swat the flies away from your food periodically, especially during the summer. They were constantly around us trying to land on our food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 553381715May 3, 20241 check-in
Stopped by for dinner on our way to Tri Cities. Casual and great for a quick stop. There have some tables inside but their outdoor seating is much bigger and will be great when the weather gets a bit warmer. Today we chose to sit inside. They also have a tiny bar area. I ordered a Bees Knees. I guess my expectations were high. The presentation was a let down. I like to feel the zing when I see a cocktail, even before I taste it. So the glass, the lemon wedge everything wasn't up to the mark. And when I tasted it, didn't seem as sweet as it's supposed to be. So I asked for a tad more honey to be added and the waitress was cool with it and brought it back the way I wanted it. So that was all good. The presentation could have been better. Maybe a different glass?
I got veggie tacos that came with chick pea patty, avocados and lots of slaw. Very yummy. The hot sauce was spot on! The veggie burger came with a crispy chickpea patty. It was really good. We asked for Cajun fries with the burger and a side of Cajun fries for the kids. The fries were disappointing. Cold and limp. We couldn't eat it. Service was good. I would recommend getting a beer instead of cocktails, like my partner did. Would be great with the burger too and they can't go wrong with that! Overall, great place to stop by.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Julie P.Baltimore, MD3916Apr 30, 2024

I had to stop off at the closest restaurant to the highway because I needed to relieve myself. And decided why not check out the red pickle.
Well, my hot dog did not have a pickle, but what it did have was a bunch of condiments that I liked. The hot dog was one of the messiest things ive eaten. And to be honest, I think what I got was severely overpriced
Lets face it, this Hot Dog costed me $13. For $13, I can purchase 7 costco hot dogs AND get condiments AND GET A FREE DRINK. I was blown away how expensive this Hot dog was ESPECIALLY because I was in Central Washington.
Anyways, if you want an overly priced hot dog please come here. Oh the fries were fantasicHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Dec 23, 2023Updated review
Great little small-town cafe. Really tasty food with a wide assortment of dishes. Exceptionally friendly service - very welcoming. This has become our stopping point for food when driving thru the area. Highly recommend

My friend and I stopped by Ellensburg for lunchtime and found this place with many reviews. We were told we could sit anywhere in the restaurant, which we did. The vibe of the restaurant was a mix of families and college-age students. The service can be slightly improved as it takes a while to get our order and check. However, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because it was a busy afternoon.
We ordered a Super Gaucho w/ Cajun Fries and a Gauchito w/ Cajun Fries. I loved that green sauce they added to the burger, as it gave more flavor to it. The burger was quite juicy, and I also loved the presentation of it. The fries were soft but weren't soggy, and they provided siracha mayo for dipping sauce.
I recommend The Red Pickle if you are looking for a good burger.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Katrina B.WA, WA033Apr 23, 2024
