Overlooking Shenandoah National Park from 45 acres of pasture, our captivating Virginia bed and breakfast glories in views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, neighboring farms, and vineyards. Tracing its roots to 1833 as a Wells Fargo stagecoach stop turned hunting retreat for the British royal family, the main house brims with nostalgic settings: a fire-lit entrance hall, a baronial oak hunt room with minstrel gallery, a stone wine cellar, and a charming country kitchen. Our luxuriously appointed guest rooms, suites, and a private cottage echo this warm radiance. Dining at Glen Gordon Manor is truly an experience not to be missed! As a guest of Glen Gordon Manor your stay includes a leisurely, multi-course breakfast served in our main dining room. Finally, your experience would not be complete without joining us for dinner at least one night in our award-winning Houndstooth Restaurant. The restaurant is open to the public and inn guests nightly with a 7 pm dinner seating and rotating prix fixe menu prepared by Chef Dayn Smith.

I have stayed at the inn in Little Washington many times, but for the value and experience Glenn Gordon Manor gets my vote in spades.
Dayn the chef is terrific. Their multicourse meal was spectacular and all the service between Madison and Kenya, and everyone else was so friendly and down to earth the accommodations were terrific. If you do book here the Kenmere room is the best.

We have found the Tuscany or Napa Valley of the east coast! The view past the pool is enough to sell you on staying here, but the charm inside the inn is inviting as well. What's incredible is the staff here seem to do it all; they'd check us in, then be serving dinner, help us poolside, make our beds, etc. The staff were all really friendly and made such an effort to make sure we enjoyed our stay. I love how the owner/chef also came to serve and explain his dishes showing he's not just hiring others to do it, but that he enjoys seeing his guests too by participating.

What brought us here is we need a hotel with a full service restaurant in reach of the rooms, so we can put our 1 year old to bed and then with the baby monitor head to dinner. Even though this inn was full of couples and had a romantic vibe to it, the staff ate up our daughter by giving her all the attention (esp at breakfast, immediately getting an egg or pancakes for her). She particularly loved the chickens and horses on the property, especially the pony Penny who we visited daily.

The restaurant Houndstooth is exceptionally good; the plating and quality of the food, along with the service.. an experience from start to finish. They have 3 different dining areas that all have their own vibe... we liked the table right by the window view of the pool. We were disappointed that they don't offer a la carte menu because the price for their 5 course meal is very steep. We believe this is why the turnover of customers is high here because they don't have the option for a la carte. We opted for 5 course meal two nights despite it being over budget and though it was very enjoyable, I felt a bit guilty how over budget it was for us. But YOLO when on vacation Lol.

Pro tip! They have board games in their public bathroom if you're looking to hang in the lounge area. Also towels for the pool in there.

Thank you for a homey wonderful stay with beautiful views!

This is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway in the Virginia mountains. The pool, with mountain views, was divine. Breakfast was delicious, and Michelle was kind enough to send us off with a few recipes. Walking around the grounds at sunset was magical. Simply can't say enough about how lovely Glen Gordon Manor is!

Just got home from staying at Glen Gordon Manor. I wanted to write a review because it was so fantastic ! The grounds were breath taking and relaxing and so charming ! Walking around was absolutely beautiful and peaceful . The staff was beyond friendly and accommodating ! The rooms were large, cute and had everything you needed . Breakfast was 830-930 am and they made you a breakfast that was delicious and the eggs came from the cute hens they had as pets! There were gorgeous horses o. the property and my family had fun feeding the friendly horses! Anyway, had to write what a fabulous time we had .... we wish we could have stayed longer and had the dinner there , as it looked amazing but we were only in town a few days for a wedding! If you are considering staying here ..... do it... you won't be disappointed !!!

Idyllic and romantic spot off the beaten path. Absolutely perfect for a recharge. The property is stunning. The main house is gorgeous. Breakfast in the morning was fresh and delicious. The common spaces are cozy and still private. The rooms are spectacular. There are so many little spots to explore and enjoy. The chef will even chop up carrots for you to feed the horses on the property. This place was a fantastic find

The Glen Gordon Manor is a B&B located in the Shenandoah Valley. This place has been on my list for a while to check out, and for a birthday weekend celebration, the hubs and I were able to book our stay.

This place was once a Wells Fargo stagecoach stop, the main house holds the dining area, a nice selection of books that you can borrow, as well as a large sitting area, in which you can also request to hear more about the history behind the grounds.

There are rooms and suites you can choose from, and we stayed at the Windsor Suite, which was located a few steps away. Our suite looked like the pictures - having a king-sized bed, a soaking tub with a separate marble two-headed shower, twin pedestal sinks, a water closet with a bidet, a mini fridge, an iPad that is connected to surround sound, and bathrobes.

Checking-in was a breeze, and the front staff were so welcoming and super sweet. We did find some off/odd things about our suite, though, as there were toilet paper rolls 'hanging' off the bathroom decor, the bidet was unclean/rust-like, damp hand towels on the sink, and the window sills being extremely dusty, and the shower smelling like mildew. We did let the front staff know, and they were extremely apologetic - just thought that there would be more attention to detail and higher quality control due to the rates of the room.

The soaking tub was large, and it did look out to the back where there are some horses that are milling around - so cute! Just note that if you had the intention to enjoy the views of the horses while taking a bath, privately, beware! There were visitors/guests who were walking around the grounds near the bathroom windows - having the blinds drawn at all times was necessary!

There was no TV in the room, which was great if you really wanted to focus on disconnecting for a bit.

There are plenty of spots to park your car on the gravel lots that they have.

I recommend in foregoing in staying in their suites and focus on having a wonderful dinner at their restaurant, the Houndstooth - probably one of the best meals I've had in a while! Chef Smith is extremely talent and a wonderful chef, and his courses are absolutely divine and delicious! Definitely a great place to have a date night or to celebrate.

      +book at the Houndstooth!
      +bypass staying in the suites

Simply the best. Forget The Inn at little Washington. This is in an old inn only has 5 tables in main room. One menu and one sitting but the attention to detail is incredible. Just look at the menu and the food. I have a happy tummy.

It's not cheap and it's far away BUT with the money and the drive.

This place is amazing. Beautiful grounds and fantastic scenery. They have chickens and horses on site (two miniature ponies were our favorite) and we were visited by deer in the evening. You simply must book dinner at the restaurant. Five incredible courses -- some of the best food I've ever had. Excellent service all around.

Small hotel with a full service restaurant and a staff that is five star worthy. The rooms were spacious. My only complaint was our room could of had a king bed, there was enough room for it. We stayed three nights, loved the area of the hotel, the grounds of the hotel. I also think a few options at breakfast would of been nice. Although we made a few special requests and got them all. So again. The staff was very superb. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a romantic getaway in the Tuscany of the north east. So many Vinyards near by, and perfect weather.

Stayed here over a long weekend to celebrate an anniversary. Fantastic gem of an inn nestled away in Virginia wine country. Upon arrival we received a quick tour, with some history of the inn and accommodations. The property is peaceful and quiet, great place to relax and unwind. A hearty breakfast was served each morning and the bar has some great cocktails in the evening. On our last night we had an amazing gourmet meal in the Houndstooth restaurant. Highly recommend!
