Q:
Are they "all you can eat"?
A:
As in conveyor belt sushi? No, they are a sit-down, order-from-menu place.

Went tonight for the first time in 10 years as we just moved back to the area and it was just as good as ever. The Katana Maki was great, would get it again. The sushi plate was amazing, super fresh and a great dinner. The agedashi tofu was kind of meh, I wouldn't get it again.
That said we will definitely be coming back more often, looking forward to the next visitHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I have been to this restaurant one other time before this most recent visit, and I am surprised it isn't as popular. Both times I did only order sushi, but this isn't solely a sushi restaurant. The menu also had other dishes and entrees like rice plates and ramen.
There is street parking around and nearby the restaurant. It wasn't troublesome to find parking given it was a Wednesday evening. Our party of two were seated right away when a waiter was available. The staff are friendly and helpful.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Very tasty. Fast and clean. Friendly service. Tasty miso soup. Simple layout. Up one flight of stairs from the sidewalk so look up or you'll miss it.

Ive had beef donburi before but not with noodles, and surprisingly I loved it. The savory flavor of the dish along with the miso soup became the best lunch I've had in a minute

What a disappointment of visit. From service to food it was just bad all together. I will say server did try her best but failed in so many way. To the owner, please have more than one server on duty. Food, ordered tempura, sauce was nothing but soy sauce. Who dos that. Sushi, I don't think it was that fresh. This place use to be better. Will not be going back.

We decided to branch out and try this spot and I so badly wanted to like it but it didn't quite meet my expectations. I'm giving a 3 star because my husband really did enjoy his shoyu ramen and the tempura wasn't bad but I was pretty disappointed in the sushi. Not sure if they just had an off day or not but it wasn't the greatest. We ordered the sashimi plate and three different rolls and the quality and flavor of the fish just wasn't there. Everything tasted really bland if I'm being honest. The puget sound roll was one of the better rolls we tried but it was falling apart easily.

After all these years the quality has remained the same, perfect! Only thing I miss was the hot towel they used to give you when first sitting down. Our favorite sushi!

I don't leave reviews on Yelp. However, I felt compelled to take the time to leave my first one regarding this restaurant. Our experience from start to finish was horrible- the service and the FOOD! Our miso soup was so salty we asked for some hot water. The server then explains that they have a new batch of soup she can bring us. Let this comment sink in, folks. Why wouldn't this restaurant serve fresh soup to customers instead of days old soup reheated to the point that it's so salty, it was inedible. The "new batch" of miso soup was bland and we couldn't taste much of the miso. The soup was soon left untouched. The tempura was served with watered-down, warmed soy sauce. Again, when we complained to our server, she brought us COLD dipping sauce. No, the dipping sauce wasn't even room temperature cold but directly out of a refrigerator COLD! The tempura batter was also heavy and not the right tempura batter. And, lastly, the main reason for leaving this review was the quality of the fish, as described by my teen sushi lover as "sus", which we refused to eat.
Conclusion: I just wasted $100+ for Panda Express/ food court quality food.
Note to management: I left my contact information with Juan to contact me, if you so choose to hear more of our experience tonight.
I was that pissed over the food here!
I will not frequent this establishment again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Thanks for your comments and feedback. HH, the other reviewer above, sat at your same table and we reached out to him as well. I sent you a direct message to further discuss this situation with you as well. We apologize for your experience, as this is not even close to a typical customer experience at our 40-year old establisment. We expect greatness every time and your feedback is taken seriously.

I think food from the kitchen is better than the sushi. We had both. Shrimp tempura was nicely cooked. Udon broth was ok but a little heavy handed/intense. And noodles were on the overcooked/soggy side when served. We also had a roll. Rice prep is everything and it was not great here. Was a little too wet and mushy.
Service was good.
What would make it a 4? All the parts seem there. But tidying up their processes, such as cooking rice and noodles with time and precision, would improve the overall quality.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Harris A.Gig Harbor, WA8596Jan 21, 2024
It was our first time here and my wife and I came with several other couples. I had the Chicken Teriyaki and Tempura.I really liked the Teriyaki. It had a great flavor and there was a slight crunchy to the some of the pieces. The soup and salad that accompanied the meal was very good. The tempura was not as warm when served as I would have liked. The meal was a good value and the service was okay. It was a Saturday night and the server was very busy and one of our members didn't get his food with the rest of us. All in all, it was a very good experience and we plan to go back as they have an interesting menu.
