Love the variety of stores around there. Many different options. Clothing stores, restaurants, movies, everything in one

Cute little street for some light shopping. It reminds me of a mini version of Santana Row. It has a movie theater, Barnes & Noble, H&M, Forever 21, Victoria's Secret etc. You won't find any high-end retailers here just a few middle of the road stores. It's a pretty short street and it would be nice to see it expand or get better stores. Parking sucks, there's a garage and it's about $3 per hour. It's alright if you're on that side of the bay but Downtown Walnut Creek has better shopping.

This place has serious safety and robbery problems. Been visiting this place a lot back in 2012/2013, mainly for the furniture stores like west elm and EQ3. Back then, I felt safe walking in the premises and enjoyed the semi-outdoor setting of the mall. Then I moved out of the state for a few years, now back to the Bay Area and come to the mall once or twice a month. I have to say this place has rundown a lot, security is the biggest problem of all. Earlier in the afternoon today, a boy of 13-14 years old came to me and attempted to take my phone off my hand. It happened at the open area in front of the theatre ticketing counter, in the bright daytime around 3:30pm. The boy was an Africa American, and he was with a group of friends of similar or older age. Glad he didn't hit me or anything, but I was holding my phone really tight that he couldn't easily take it off my hand. The pulling back and forth lasted for a few seconds until I scream out very loud to scare him off. My husband turned back and confronted him but the group denied. They didn't run, but surround the three of us, in a group of 7-8, i really felt threatened. My husband called 911 while they were trying to argue/ deny the (attempted) robbery. What pissed us the most is a security staff came by and he basically escorted the boy and another guy towards the parking lot direction and let them go while we asked him not to let them leave the scene.
The Emeryville police arrived in 8-10 minutes, which was quite efficient, and asked for description of the suspect. I took a picture of him during our argument so we were able to tell his height, age, and color of clothes. Anyways, we're so glad the police was able to caught him within 30 minutes. We don't want it to happen to anyone else, hope the boy could learn the lesson.
Anyways, this mall was great few years ago, but now, all I see are mobsters of high school age walking around in groups. My little girl was really scared by the whole incident and cried for hours. For us, it will be a place to avoid for the years to come. It is sad to see that this place poses serious safety threats now.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1318222336Jun 1, 2015
Next to IKEA, this outdoor mall is totally sufficient.
It mixes a few chain stores with a few local stores, with some restaurants and a 16 screen cinema.
There is a paid parking garage near to the mall, and other shopping like Trader Joe's is walking distance away.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - John F.Oakland, CA16224116Apr 16, 2017
A mid to semi high end shopping center. Various shops and restaurants for anything you may like. Plenty of parking in the garage and even a IMAX movie theater on the property as well. At any given time it can be crowded, if you do not like large crowds, beware. For the most part, I appreciate the people watching, Barnes and Noble and the theater. I don't appreciate the groups of young kids who are often rude and annoying. Quick tip: the only two locations that validate parking is Barnes and Noble and Starbucks.
People watching, spacing out/boredom, shopping, good place for meeting up and spending time. Enjoy the fresh air.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Tanya H.Oakland, CA01Feb 25, 2020
Came to Bay Street for a quick lunch but the restaurant we wanted to go to is closed during construction. Didn't find out it was closed until parking, then re-parking due to entrance being blocked.
No signs were posted that restaurants were closed, no signs posted that entrances were closed.
We left after 15 minutes and had to pay for parking!! Wasted lunch hour!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Eunice Y.Oakland, CA356250103Jun 24, 2019
This place is a great alternative to a mall. The shops on Bay Street exist but exist another 30-40 minute drive so if you live in east bay this is a great shopping option for you. The reason why I give it three stars and not more because the amount of stores where I personally shop don't exist. Also parking is not cheap! I will die if you are going to the movie theater in a few yeah venue and parking validations so you only need to pay $1.50 if you wanted to see a movie. Play because the basic necessities it that you may need it on short notice. They have HNM, forever 21, express, Gap, red Mango, Barnes and noble... etc. just a couple blocks away is urban outfitters as well. Parking is readily available just expect to pay a minimum of 3 dollars.

This mall has really been stepping up its game. They have added local merchants and have improved their security.

It is a beautiful mall, but they don't have parking for disabled. We were charged for parking. At least in SF, one does not have to pay for parking if one is disabled. So wrong.

Emerybay mall was my go to for years - but all my favorite restuarants have moved out. Rubio's and Buckhorn Grill suddenly vanished and a number of store have left. Other than the UA 16 movie theatre, there really isn't much to see there anymore. The second floor resturant vacancies looks really bad and the entire mall appears to be suffering.
