The garden is named after Rosetta McClain and was donated to the City of Toronto by her husband and son. There are remnants of a house in the gardens. I wonder if it belonged to the McClains. It was interesting to walk through the house on the path.

The gardens are 23 acres in total. There's a parking lot, washroom facilities, a drinking fountain (not sure who's using it during COVID-19 though), a pergola that surrounds a rock fountain, braille signage, plenty of benches throughout, and beautiful planters with various plants and flowers.

I was delighted to see monarch butterflies and happened to take a few photos of them. The flowers are beautiful and the view of Lake Ontario is stunning. It's also really nice that the trees here are mature and provide a lot of shade on hot summer days.

This park is located opposite Birchmount road and is accessible from Kingston Road. There are plenty of benches and they also have public restrooms. There are many round structures which are fountain like and other architectures that are beautiful to take photos. It's a well maintained park and my goto place for a pleasant summer evening. Went there in winter and it's equally beautiful to take pictures. The only reason for 4 stars is because of the limited parking. There is a dog park near the bluffs where you could park at and take a 5min walk.

I must be living under a rock. Being a Scarborough-ite all my life...how on earth did I not know this little gem has been here?

It's not a huge park by any means - but it is extremely well maintained and BEAUTIFUTL. The grounds - oh man - flowers/plants all over, rose gardens towards the back (by the gazebo), plenty of trees to provide shade (great area for picnics b/c there is actually a lot of open space)

The middle has a beautiful garden, with plenty of bench seating and a large rock statue - which is actually a fountain (I believe it goes off once and hour).

You can walk around and see water views (you cannot walk to the Bluffs from within the garden).

Plenty of parking - free parking lots.

Already planning a picnic with my friends. If you want a calming place to go relax in a bustling city...head on over...but shhh..don't tell too many people ;)

BOTTOM LINE: An oft-overused term, but a hidden gem this park truly is!

If there's a silver lining to COVID-19 is that it's forced me to explore all of the outdoorsy Toronto areas that I never knew existed! Echoing other Yelpers here, Rosetta McClain Gardens is a well-maintained and curated garden full of towering trees, vined pergolas, rose bushes, and anchored by an eye-catching fountain in the centre of it all. Best of all, it's perched on top the Scarborough Bluffs, so you're also treated to a panoramic view of Lake Ontario without fear of the ground beneath you crumbling apart! Finally, there is free parking on site, so what's not to like?!

A rose garden, gazebo, pergola with flowering vines, a cascading fountain, and a view of Lake Ontario from the top of the bluffs: this is Rosetta McClain Gardens.

Walking into the park, hubby and I noticed three men with their cameras situated on tripods with telescopic lenses, pointing toward a group of bushes with purple flowers. We looked closer and the bushes were covered with orange and black butterflies, colorful moths and a number of different bees. Needless to say we stopped to take multiple pictures and videos (October 6, 2017 in the afternoon). Here's an interesting article that gives more info and interesting facts about the garden https://juliekinnear.com/blogs/rosetta-mcclain-gardens-a-park-on-the-edge.

Come and sit on a bench with your arms around your loved one; relax to the sounds of chirping crickets, twittering birds and cascading water; be entertained by the scampering squirrels; take in the fragrance of roses, and allow your worries to just fade away.

This is one of Scarborough's little secrets, I guess. Lived in Toronto for ten yeas and recently found out about it from map searching, then decided to visit.

It is not huge, but it is a lovely garden. Established in 1991, there is a central garden with a modernistic fountain and pergola, a lovely rose garden, and several other flower beds in a park setting with some beautiful trees, including a stunning weeping copper beech.

Like the James gardens, the Edwards gardens, and some of the other municipal gardens in Toronto it is a perfect place for wedding photography and the city obviously intended that to be a fundraiser for them.

Many benches in the shade where one can relax and read or meditate.

Beautiful park! Lovely garden with architectural aspects. Busy but large enough that people were spaced out. It'd be a great picnic spot...pack a blanket, sandwiches and drinks...you could spend a few quiet hours here.

Beautiful gardens...the wildflower and rose gardens were amazing and the lilacs were in bloom. What a treat for the senses!
And the backdrop of the lake is just breathtaking! I agree with the other review, that the scenery in these gardens would make for lovely wedding photos.
The staff and gardens were friendly and helpful, a couple of people visiting on the day we visited not so much. Most likely "regulars" since they felt the need to police the gardens as their own personal space. It's such a peaceful place but there's always one (or two) in the crowd that try to spread their misery.
Please stay home so others can enjoy the loveliness in peace.

Is a wonderful place to go for a nice walk. It would also make a great place to have wedding photos done.
