      Updated review

An update of my previous review. Hotel is a great location to new Blackcomb gondola and whistler ski school. Right next to fairmont hotel and milestones restaurant.

It's a condo hotel (with convenience kitchen, extra bathrooms, one housekeeping visit per stay). But each suite is decorated differently and def not uniform. Each suite is individually owned so the "look" depends on how much the owner spent on renovations and updates. Just ask reception what you have booked. Expensive rate gets you the updated condos. Cheap rate? Odds you got a crappy old room. We stayed in 214, 317 and 318. Updated suites. Recommended.

Probably the worst lodging experience I've ever had. This is NOT a hotel. Rooms are individually owned apartments. You will have zero amenities. Rooms are dated, not nice. My room had no blinds so up at dawn. With luggage the building is not walkable from shuttle drop off point so if you haven't rented a car you will need to taxi from the shuttle. Just a terrible decision to stay here. I feel so stupid having chosen it.

No one cares here and the washroom was disgusting. Unit 414.

When we first arrived, we had felt somewhat scammed as the room looked much more outdated compared to what was advertised by the majority of the photos from the booking site.

I was here for an anniversary weekend and was greeted in the washroom with a stranger's long piece of hair dangling out of our towels. There was also a disgusting amount of rust in the tub and more stranger's hair left in the corner. I told the staff in person and on the app about the situation on the first night and again on the second day. No one ever came in to clean or give us fresh towels. You can tell because those pieces of hair are still there in the same spot.

We lost power to half of our room on the second night. Again, I told the front desk, and through the app the situation. He said he would fix it. We went out for dinner and returned 4 hours later to the same problem. We went down the second time and he said he couldn't fix it, "sorry". So we requested a new room. The front desk guy then told us to wait in our room until they figured out arrangements. We were hanging out in darkness until 20 min later he fixes the breaker, and we have power again. It's funny how they only decided to try the second time because apparently it's motivating to not give us another room to solve the problem. Management also claims they sent in cleaners, to which I told them they can find the hairs still there in the washroom.

Finally, on the day we leave, I speak to the adult manager regarding the situation. I'm trying to be calm and understanding given the circumstances and she apologized and said most the staff are new and will compensate us for the trouble we had gone through here. She said she would send it through email so I gave her my email. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt as I did with everyone else here. She was the only real adult I've talked to that worked here since we arrived.

As I drive home, I get a confusing phone call hours later saying my email does not work. I send them my email through phone verbally, text email, and the app. I've been patient and given them so many chances to do the right thing and still just get excuses after excuses and no action.

The manager just straight up lied to my face. I got home, it's night time now, and I never got any email or compensation. Clearly we don't matter to them. They just ignored us after we left and didn't have the human decency to make things right. It's sad to see how much the staff here do not care about anything.

Please friends, if you want to enjoy your stay at whistler, pick any other option but here. I promise you this place is not worth your money.

First time staying in whistler and had a bad experience.

Online pictures looked nothing like the actual room and power outage in the middle of the day.

Staff was not very helpful when we had issues.

Despite the location was good, will probably not go back again.

Nice place to stay at when in Whisler, Canada. I can't imagine how beautiful it'll be like in the winter time here. Nice location that is close by to shops and restaurants down stairs and the environment is so lively.

Showers take a while for it to warm up and some knobs on the cabinet fell off within a touch. Other than that, great place to stay at.

Manager asked to provide the update...

After talking to manager 6 times over the course of two days and calling Expedia twice they were able to miraculously find a different room which didn't exist before my call to Expedia. Property manager also told Expedia agent the loud music issue was resolved, when in fact it wasn't.

Room itself is ok - overpriced for what it is, but that is expected of ski resort.
The major issue is that bar downstarirs blasts music at night and it is impossible to sleep. If you are coming to Whistler with intention to hit the slops in the morning, this is not a place for you to stay.

This review is specifically for suite 214.

I have been a frequent traveller for both work and leisure for over a decade. And this place is an fantastic place to stay if you're looking for place when visiting Whistler.

First off, for skiers the location is a highlight, especially if you have kids with you. The Blackcomb gondola is right in front of this place as is the Whistler kids's ski school. The ski school is literally a hundred steps away so no need to lug skis very far. Ski valet is free for guests in the building's ski store so skis and snowboard can be stored overnight.

This unit is impeccably clean with modern amenities and furnishings. There is a small kitchenette with a bar sink, toaster oven, microwave and fridge for quick meals. Why waste time and money on breakfast at a restaurant when you can do it quickly by yourself?

It is right next to Chateau Fairmont so there is easy access to a Starbucks, spa and the Wildflower restaurant. The Four Seasons is nearby as well if you want to head to their world class spa.

It is quiet at night as you are away from the screaming drunk yahoos at Whistler Village. If you want to be a yahoo, it's only a 10 minute walk to the village or take the free bus. When you want a quiet restful sleep just return quietly to your wonderful room.

The unit has 1 bedroom with a fold out sofa and two bathrooms. Comfortably accommodates four adults. This unit comes with unlimited international phone calls and wifi.

There is an outdoor pool and hot tub. Parking is $15/day underground.

Nightly stay is a fraction of the price of the two nearby hotels. Why bother with such an expense when most of the time you'll be out on the slopes, or passed out from all the great skiing and/or snowboarding?

Only minor criticism of the place is the thin towels and the mediocre landscaping.

Le Chamois has a great location in the quiet upper village area a few minutes walk from the village proper and end-of-day ski-out to within a few yards of the door, although you'll probably want to start your day at the gondola in the lower village.

The hotel itself is a bit charmless. The interior looks tired and trampled. The parking situation is predatory. Not included in the room rate, it was expensive even with the "guest discount" and worked via a vending machine seemingly designed to confuse you into making costly errors. Be careful!

      First to Review

I stayed here for 4 nights this past week for Thanksgiving weekend.
If you're looking for a great place to stay while visiting Whistler to snowboard/ski... Le Chamois is perfect!

The wizard express lift is right behind the hotel that takes you up Blackbomb mountain. They have a store connected to the hotel where you store your snowboard/skis overnight.

None of the places during my stay to dine in the hotel were open for business... but there are other food options located outside of the hotel.

Infact, my bff and I arrived on the day they reopened, the guy told me they have been closed since last summer due to renovations. We arrived at 1am in the morning, and we had to call the emergency number on the door to have someone open the doors for us and check us in. They close the hotel during the night. The worker stays in one of the hotel rooms over night and comes to the front desk when needed... it looked like he checked us in with his pajamas. lol. He said he didn't know much, because he was new. But he was nice and helpful.

The pool was currently out of service, but I went by to check it out and it was warm, so I don't know what the issue was. They also have 4 treadmills if you want to do some cardio while not on the mountains.

We stayed in room 409. The 1bed/1bath... which was great! It's the biggiest hotel room I ever stayed in... comes with living room, dining table, kitchen with all the appliances and utencils. The couch in the living room pulls out to a bed also. Ice machine was right outside of our hotel room. Local calls are free! Big plus: free wifi! yay!

The hotel seemed empty, but the guy who checked us in said that they had a bunch of people check in that day... I never seen anyone but us there. Nice fireplace int he lobby. There wasn't a "No Disturb sign" and someone came in daily to clean the room and change our towels.

-1 star for parking. Like most places in Whistler, you have to pay for parking. Parking here as a guest isn't included.

4 stars for great location, BIG plus for not having to drive and park... the lift in just walking distance from the hotel! (^_^)

Le Chamois is the perfect place to stay while visiting Whistler!

      Finally here! Le Chamois!
