Actress Sofia Vergara recently sat down with Spanish-language newspaper El País, and the Modern Family star opened up about everything from her acting career to her current season of life.

The 51-year-old toty founder also spoke out about her recent divorce from her ex-husband, Magic Mike star Joe Manganiello. She and the 47-year-old star tied the knot in November of 2015, but split last fall. As it turns out, the breakup was due to their differing goals for the future.

“My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids and I didn’t want to be an old mom,” Vergara told the outlet. “I feel it’s not fair to the baby. I respect whoever does it, but that’s not for me anymore. I had a son at 19, who is now 32, and I’m ready to be a grandmother, not a mother.”

Vergara shares her son, Manolo, with her ex-husband, Joe Gonzalez. The two were married briefly between 1991 and ’93.

However, it appears that the Griselda star is not giving up in the love department, though she has a few stipulations in mind for her next romantic partner.

“So, if love comes along, he has to come with [his own] children,” Vergara told the publication. “I’m almost in menopause; it’s the natural way of things. When my son becomes a dad, let him bring the baby to me for a while and then I’ll give it back to him and go on with my life; that’s what I have to do.”
