A. vulgare are also called roly-poly bugs or pill bugs.  They are suitable for bioactive vivariums, even though they are not the most voracious cleaners.  They are docile isopods that are slower to reproduce, and they can tolerate some dry conditions as long as they have a damp area, such as a bug den, in the habitat to retreat to as needed.  Keep Wild Type isopods the same as other common isopods.  Please see our blog and YouTube channel for care guides and tips.  We provide cuttlebone, and we supplemental feed fish flakes, dried shrimp, dried fish, zucchini, and squash.
