The Boa Lacing System Wants to Make Shoe Laces a Thing of the Past
Coming to ASICS and New Balance running shoes.
The newest lacing system from Boa Technology is going to be making its running shoe debut, with both ASICS and New Balance signing up to use the technology. The system is similar to other lace closure methods, such as PUMA’s disc system, but the Boa System also comes with a unique dial-based technology. The dial system is smooth and means you can adjust the lace tension at 1mm per click, while the laces are made with Dyneema, the toughest fiber in the world. Boa Technology’s lacing system is making its debut on two pairs of running shoes, with the ASICS Gel-FujiRado on sale already (for $130 USD) and the New Balance Fuel Core Sonic slated to drop on July 1, priced at $110 USD.
As well as incorporating Boa Technology’s lacing system, ASICS has recently unveiled its lightest ever running shoe.
