Sesleria autumnalis is a clumping, cool-season grass that starts the season quietly. But in midsummer, it begins to put on an unexpected show. Silvery-white inflorescences emerge on narrow stems and hover high above the foliage. When planted in masses, the look is lush and beautiful. Autumn Moor Grass is good looking, uncomplicated, and robust. It is reasonably drought tolerant and fits the need for a small, congenial grass in the full-sun to part-shade landscape. Plants in the Sesleria genus are named to honor Leonardo Sesler, an important figure in the botanical world of the 18th Century.
