Bournemouth Town Centre - share your ideas

Thank you to everyone who has submitted an idea - we are currently read through all the ideas and categorising them ready to feed into an Autumn summit.

Everyone has a view on Bournemouth Town Centre, lots of ideas have been shared already and we would like to collate them to help create an attractive future for Bournemouth Town Centre. Town centres everywhere are changing, and places like Bournemouth that rely on tourism need to appeal to local people and visitors too. People's shopping habits have changed which means we do not need as much retail space in the town and we need to think about how to use space differently.

The council doesn't have the money to deal with this alone, or own very many of the properties so we will need outside help and we need to inspire developers looking to invest in the area.

We know residents have lots of ideas so we are asking for your ideas and thoughts on what you would like to see. We will then work with our partners, including our Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), Destination Management Board, our universities, businesses, landlords and tourist agencies to review all of the ideas submitted to build a vision for the future that has been fully developed through resident and stakeholder engagement.

Please share your ideas by completing the form below and tell us:

  • What you would like to see in Bournemouth Town Centre in the future
  • What you like about Bournemouth Town Centre and what you think is important to keep
  • Any ideas from places you've visited that you think would work in Bournemouth (you can upload up to 3 photos/images as part of the form, if you wish to upload more, please complete an additional form)

We will present these ideas along with others gathered by our partners and those previously collected through BCP Future Lab, our Local Plan Issues and Options consultation and our Reimaging your high streets consultation to a Town Centre Summit which we will be hosting in the Autumn.

Please share your ideas by Friday 4 August 2023
