About Hoya Pubicalyx
With over 500 species and even more cultivars, there's a Hoya out there for everyone! They're native to Southeast Asia and their common name, waxplant, refers to their thick, waxy leaves which help them retain water in the heat. They're excellent climbers and will take off if you give them a trellis to grow on. Their other-worldly, star-shaped flowers are often fragrant and come in brilliant shades of red, pink, yellow, and more!

Finding light for Hoya Pubicalyx in your home
Hoya Pubicalyx may have difficulty thriving, and will drop leaves 🍃, without ample sunlight.
Place it less than 3 feet from a south-facing window to maximize the potential for growth.
Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement of Hoya Pubicalyx in your home 🏡.
How to fertilize Hoya Pubicalyx
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Hoya Pubicalyx after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Before my move, she was thriving and now I’m worried… but also are those new growth nodes? I just want to share the progress of my #HoyaPubicalyx because she’s one of my favorites!! 😍 Left is back in May and right is today! I also did propagate it and have a tiny baby growing from it. I feel like I do need a bigger trellis? Maybe a bigger pot? I did repot it last year and it’s thriving as is! Give me all the tips!!! #valscasoasis

Happy #FreshLeafFriday y’all! 🌱🙌🏽✨ A quick post for yall to show you how my little jungle is growing and doing today 😊 I have SEVERAL #PropagationStation(s) cooking right now and I wanted to share the progress with the #GregGang 🫶🏽 1st Pic: My #JesseniaPothos #wetstick has FINALLY unfurled a leaf!! I tried water propagation on this wet stick but it did not like it. In fact, it rotted quite a bit and it never rooted after 3 weeks in water. I decided to place it in a takeout box with perlite in it, mist every 2-3 days and it finally has SPROUTED! 🌱✨ 2nd Pic: My #floridaghost wet stick is STILL slowly unfurling! Can’t wait to watch it grow 🥹 3rd & 4th Pic: My two snake plant props I forgot about in water are doing great!! One has a BABY and the whale fin was actually an experiment to see if that little (and young) of a cutting would root and make babies! So far, it’s rooted but no babies…YET 😊🤞🏽 Last but not least, my beautiful #HoyaPubicalyxsplash is pushing out the longest runner I’ve EVER seen on one of my Hoyas 🤣 can’t wait to see it fill out with leaves!! Check out the comments for a few more plant updates 🌱💖 #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PlantTherapy #PothosPack #PothosPack #Philodendron #SnakePlant #Hoya #CentralTexasGang #kscapedream
