fiziologus
Revive some old "feature" while hatch may eat dupes. As very rare hatch species, of course, not as ordinary hatch.
Sasza22
I`d be ok with an egressive hatch strain attacking dupes on notice. Maybe a morph that doesn`t spawn when tamed.
CrutchPunk
This could be another disease they add... it has a % chance to infect critters, and maybe even dupes, turning them into feral creatures that attack, or even eat, other critters/dupes. Adding new medicine to the apothecary you have to administer (for a chance) to cure them.

Sounds like rabies. Infected creatures becomes mad and tries to bite everybody around them. Each create bitten then turn into a biting creature to spread the disease. fiziologus
Hatch may eat meat. Dupes also meat. Way to new hatch species found.
Nightinggale
Speaking of eating critters, we need some lizard like critter, which drops the tail when spooked. The implementation of this is a ranching "spook" station. The game mechanics are there. It's the same as getting stuff from dreckos, except this one drops meat. That would allow a source of meat without actually killing your critters. Maybe in true space theme, the dropped parts shouldn't be a tail, but rather have a hedgehog like critter with tentacles and the dupes can then eat dropped tentacles.
