5 Things You Need to Know About Les Twins, the Winners of World of Dance

After months of epic dance-offs and epic J.Lo outfits, it was Les Twins took home the World of Dance top prize. Because identical faces + identical moves = $1 million, amiright? Here’s the winning performance that won it all.

So who are these uber-talented, newly-minted millionaire twins? Well, the thing about Les Twins — and some have argued this was an unfair advantage — is that they were pretty famous before their stint on World of Dance. From hanging out with Jenners and Hadids to dancing with Queen Bey, here are five things you need to know about two of the world’s best (and favourite!) dancers.

1. They’re self-taught dancers from France

The 28-year-old identical twins, whose real names are Laurent and Larry Bourgeois, were born and raised in the rough-n-tough northern Parisian suburb of Sarcelles. With talent, ambition and a whole lot of hard work, they got out of the “crime-ridden, gang-infested ghetto” and landed on the world stage.

2. They’re models (and they’re friends with models)

Here are the boys pictured at Vogue’s 95th Anniversary Party in Paris, France. They’re just, you know, holding their own in a pic with Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid. NBD or anything. Les Twins have modelled for Jean Paul Gaultier, Givenchy, Adidas, Beats By Dre and H&M and appeared in JAY-Z’s video campaign “That’s Rocawear.” Most recently, they joined the Air Jordan family.

3. Vogue named them two of fashion’s most stylish men

In 2015, the boys came 13th on Vogue.com’s list of most fashionable men. But perhaps their biggest fashion moment came at Anthony Vaccarello’s fall 2015 show, where the two sat on either side of Donatella Versace.

4. They’ve performed with Beyoncé, Missy Elliott, Timbaland and Dr Dre.

Les Twins got their start in Paris street dancing and spread their art via word of mouth and YouTube. Then, they started doing battles and shows. Then, Beyoncé tracked them down and insisted that the brothers dance with her at the 2011 Billboard Awards. “She was looking for us for like two years. When she found us, she really went crazy,” Larry told i-D Magazine. “We were just supposed to meet her, but she said that we had to dance with her, and she grabbed us there and then. Since that day, we haven’t stopped working with her.”

5. They have big plans for the future

They’ve dominated the dance world and they’ve won over the fashion industry, so naturally, they’re now entering the music biz. That’s right, this hunky dancing duo can sing and rap, too and have just released their first single, “What Happened.” In an exclusive interview, Les Twins told Hollywood Life , “We want to make sure people know that we’ve started music,” they said. They want to make sure fans know that this is “just a baby start.”
