What I Like About You star Jennie Garth talks Dan Schneider, Amanda Bynes

Garth, who played Amanda Bynes' older sister on the show, bluntly proclaimed she didn't want to talk about Schneider "ever again."

Jennie Garth wasn’t a Nickelodeon star, but she still worked with the network’s mega-producer Dan Schneider — and has no interest in discussing him whatsoever.

The Beverly Hills, 90210 actress, who starred in the Schneider-produced What I Like About You alongside Amanda Bynes on the WB, told The Hollywood Reporter, “I don’t want to talk about Dan Schneider ever again in my life.” THR reports that she had no elaboration on this point; however, she did say of Bynes: “I just love her and I would love to see her at any point.”

Schneider’s behavior during his tenure at Nickelodeon has been the subject of scrutiny following the release of the Investigation Documentary series Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV , in which multiple former child stars and crew members from shows like All That and The Amanda Show allege instances of racism, sexism, sexual harassment, and a toxic work environment on Schneider-produced shows.

In an Instagram comment on Thursday, Garth said, “i have my perspective” on Quiet on Set, and that she “might touch on it very soon!”

Garth appeared on all four seasons of What I Like About You, playing the older sister of Bynes’ protagonist Holly from 2002 to 2006. The series was co-created by Will Calhoun and Schneider, the latter of whom had successfully partnered with Bynes on shows like All That and The Amanda Show.

In the first episode of Quiet on Set, the docuseries alleges that Schneider was pushed out of the writers’ room for What I Like About You following conflict with Calhoun. The episode also provides the following text: “Dan Schnieder denies he was pushed out of the writers’ room and claims he needed to focus his energy on another show he was creating at the time.”

A new episode of Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV premieres on ID on Sunday, April 7 at 8 p.m. The first four episodes of the series are streaming on Max.
