After more than six years in office, Bentley resigned on Monday, a result of a plea deal he made to avoid jail time. Several Twitter users compared the politician’s mugshot to images of Mr. Burns, The Simpsons‘ oldest villain. At 74 years old, Bentley is still quite a bit younger than the supercentenarian and evil owner of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. The Alabama governor’s resignation came after he pled guilty to two misdemeanor charges stemming from using state resources to support and hide an extramarital affair.
