Solid Snake of the Metal Gear franchise is heading to Fortnite following the Chapter 5 Season 1 launch. However, unlike Peter Griffin, Snake is a bonus character in the Battle Pass, meaning he has a separate release date and Quests. With just over a month left in Chapter 5 Season 1, Epic Games is ready to deploy a massive update on January 23. According to leaks, patch v28.10 will feature many new additions to Fortnite, one of which is the release of Solid Snake. While not much is available besides the base outfit, leaked images have depicted a Glider, Pickaxe, Wrap, and even an Old Snake alternate style.
If the leaks weren’t enough evidence, Epic Games officially announced a 4 a.m. ET downtime ahead of the Tuesday update while including a Solid Snake teaser.

Who is Solid Snake?
Solid Snake, famously of the Metal Gear series, is one of the most recognizable characters in gaming history. He first debuted in Metal Gear for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and has since appeared in five other titles. Created by Hideo Kojima and formerly voiced by David Hayter, Solid Snake is famous for his stealth and ability to pilot a cardboard box.
Apart from the Metal Gear series, Solid Snake appeared in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Ultimate, amongst other small cameos and references in other games. Snake’s appearance in Fortnite makes him the 33rd video game character to venture into the Battle Royale title when he launches on January 23.
