"Calvino's Invisible Cities" is an intricate tapestry of imagination, a forerunner to speculative fiction that has inspired this multimedia drawing. Within its intricate lines, you'll discover an interwoven cityscape. Using watercolours allowed for a more gestural image, capturing the ethereal nature of Calvino's cities. The gentle blend of colours hints at hidden stories and uncharted territories. Buildings twist and turn, defying gravity, and the streets and alleyways are like threads of a complex narrative, leading you through a labyrinthine markings and inscriptions. In the midst of this urban tapestry, you may spot hints of Marco Polo's dialogues with Kublai Khan. The lines conjure a sense of conversation and discovery, as if the viewer has stumbled into a dialogue between the explorer and the emperor. This multimedia drawing, much like Calvino's Invisible Cities, blurs the line between reality and an imagined past.
