Cercospora Leaf Spot
Scientific Name: Cercospora melongenae
Disease Type: Fungus
Plants Affected: Bean, beetroot, capsicum, okra, silver beet, watercress, carrot, avocado and coffee.
Symptom:
- Circular spots (4-10mm) with light to dark centers
- Spots first on older leaves, progressing to younger
Control:
- Minimize leaf wetness (e.g. improve aeration, no overhead sprinkler)
- Remove infected plant parts from site
- Incorporate synthetic or organic fungicide with good practices
