Toyota unveils $10,000 pickup truck

Toyota has now released an affordable truck called the Toyota IMV 0. The newly developed vehicle made in Thailand comes with a rear-wheel drive and a gasoline 2.0-liter inline-four matched to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The rugged pickup model of the Toyota IMV 0 features an extended cabin, rugged tires, an off-road bumper equipped with an LED bar and recovery points, and a roof rack for carrying heavy equipment.

It's compact, customizable, and has a modular pickup design. It is envisioned as a blank canvas for customers to transform into whatever they need it to be, catering to a wide range of uses from business to leisure applications.

The vehicle is primarily aimed at Southeast Asian markets, South Africa, and Australia, addressing the demand for compact and adaptable commercial vehicles.

Customizable Configurations: The IMV 0's modular design enables a variety of configurations, including:

  • An off-road Extra Cab version with a modular rear cabin and smaller drop-side bed
  • An integrated camper variant
  • A food truck setup with a customizable kitchen area
  • A compact ambulance for essential medical services

The Toyota IMV 0 is about the same size as the existing Toyota HiLux. The truck will be offered with diesel, petrol, hybrid, and fully electric powertrains. The bed, roof, and back of the cab are all pre-drilled for accessories.

Toyota presented a disaster relief variant model featuring Red Cross emblems. The Toyota IMV 0 is more than a foot and a half longer than the four-door Jeep Wrangler.

The Toyota IMV 0 has a target starting price of $10,000.
