1982 Volkswagen Rabbit Pickup 5-Speed

This 1982 Volkswagen Rabbit Pickup is finished in Slate Gray Metallic over black vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 1.7-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Features include a spray-in bed liner, a bed mat, a sliding rear window, air conditioning, and an aftermarket stereo. The car was first registered in Texas and spent time in Illinois, Michigan, and Florida before it was acquired by the selling dealer. This Rabbit Pickup shows 116k miles and is offered in Illinois with a clean Florida title.

The car was factory finished in Slate Grey Metallic (LE6U) and was repainted under previous ownership. Equipment includes a sliding rear window, a spray-in bed liner, a bed mat, and an aftermarket rear bumper. Rust bubbles are noted on the lower door on both sides as well as on the rocker panels, the lower pinch welds, and the hood support brace. GTI-style 14″ snowflake wheels have been refinished and are wrapped with 185/60 Primewell PS380 tires. Braking power comes from front discs and rear drums. An alignment was performed in preparation for the sale.

The cabin features bucket seats with integrated headrests wrapped in black vinyl upholstery. Additional amenities consist of a center console with an integrated gauge pod, air conditioning, rubber floor mats, and an aftermarket stereo.

A four-spoke steering wheel frames an instrument cluster that includes an 85-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. Additional instrumentation is mounted ahead of the shifter. The six-digit odometer shows 116k miles, approximately 10 of which have been added by the selling dealer.

The car comes equipped with a 1.7-liter inline-four that sends power to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. Work performed since March 2021 is said to have included converting the air conditioning to R134, rebuilding the fuel distributor, and replacing the following items:

Fuel pump, accumulator, and filter
Warmup regulator
Fuel Injectors
Spark plugs and wires
Timing belt
Valve cover gasket
Air conditioning compressor belt

An oil change was performed in November 2020.
