Mel Gibson: A Slighty Offensive Beard

!!!! Today we salute actor director, producer and screen writer Mel Gibson. This was a tough one , but I decided to put him in. I mean the guy’s done some awesome movies: Apocalypto, The Patriot, Braveheart, Lethal Weapon series, and Mad Max to name a few. But, more recently Mel Gibson’s image has been going down the tubes with his remarks that have created accusations of homophobia, antisemitism, racism, and misogyny. But everyone deserves another chance, right? I feel if Mel still has one quality that brings out the best in him, it’s his beard. He seldom grows it out to its full length, which is just a cryin’ shame, but when he does this thing is a winner for sure. It’s so robust and thick to show his power but at the same time with such a hint of grey in the front it shows us a hint of his wisdom and experience. If Mel Gibson rocked a beard more often I’m sure people would be willing to look past his mistakes and get lost in the glory of his beard. And yes, you might think to yourself, “hey, he kinda looks like Saddam Hussein after they dragged him out of his bunker”, but I ask you this. Would a man who stared in a movie called The Patriot, really want to associate himself with terrorist scum like that? As a matter of fact I would go so far as to say that Mel Gibson’s “offensive remarks” of recent are as American as it gets by showing of his freedom of speech as an American. And while I don’t necessarily agree with his statements, I sure as hell agree with his choice to exercise his right to say what he wants. And even more so I sure as hell agree with his choice to grow a large and in charge beard, and for that Mel Gibson, we salute you.
