HONG KONG singer Gigi Leung married her Spanish beau on the Mediterranean isle of Ibiza on Oct. 3, barely half a year after she met the food executive during a tour of Spain.
The seaside wedding at Ibiza Corso Hotel & Spa was attended by her friends, actress Charlie Young and singer Valen Hsu, and about 80 other guests.
The 35-year-old bride was given away by her twin brother, and she was in tears when her 36-year-old groom, Sergio, slipped a Tiffany wedding ring on her finger, said Apple Daily.
Sergio had planned the whole wedding, including the booking of airfares and accommodation for the guests, and he even picked the bridal designer, who dressed Leung in a white off-the-shoulder gown with lace details, said the report.
In deference to his mother-in-law, a long-time vegetarian, he also decided not to serve meat at the wedding.
Leung said her big day was a dream come true. “I never imagined I would meet somebody so thoroughly good to me,” the bride was quoted as saying. “My mother and brother like him. Even my friends are full of praise for him.”
The Hong Kong media noted that Leung had married Oct 3, one day before the birthday of her ex-boyfriend, actor Ekin Cheng.
Leung and Cheng parted in 2006, and she dated a Frenchman and an American before she met her husband while holidaying in Spain on her own.
