In this work, Ishiuchi photographed the belongings of victims of the atomic bomb in Hiroshima. She pressed the shutter as if she communicated with each object--and the photographs beautifully prove the life of these objects. This work shows her dialogue with “Hiroshima.”. For this work, Ishiuchi was awarded Medal with Purple Ribbon in 2013 and Hasselblad International Award in 2014 (Sweden).
This exhibition includes nine works from “Hiroshima”. The belongings of the atomic bomb victims were in the archive of the collection at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum..
