Potamogeton species

To the left is a photo of the first Potamogeton I was given. This grass looking plant is native to the United States. I think this plant looks more "grass like" than the other aquatic plants often referred to as grass like. Not like lawn grass, but like crab grass growing wild, with lots of blades coming off a main stock. Potamogeton spreads through runners somewhat like Val or Sag. It grows quite well and quickly. There are several similar species.

The three photos below are of wild Potamogetons growing in Washington state. The 1st photo shows blooming red and green species floating on top of the lake. The 2nd photo shows a species with floating leaves. The 3rd is more of the blooming plants with a pair of damselflies.
