Nuclear Fusion in a Bomb

-There is a difference between a nuclear fusion bomb and a nuclear fission bomb. A nuclear fusion bomb, also considered a hydrogen bomb, creates a lot more heat and energy than a fission bomb. The amount of energy released in a fusion reaction is far greater than that of a fission reaction. The physics of it says that it has to create more energy. Conservation of energy states that matter can't be destroyed or created only changed in form. So that means that when two atoms are fused together there is greater energy within that one atom (without considering mass change) than if two atoms are to be split apart. The first hydrogen bomb was tested in 1952. The fire ball was 4.8 km in diameter and it had an outer sheath of uranium to make a bigger explosion.

-A fusion bomb requires thermonuclear devices to create the mass amounts of heat to make nuclear fusion reaction. The reaction at the heart of the fusion bomb would actually be a fission reaction. Only lasting a second it makes a chain reaction of the outer shell of the fission reaction. The outer shell consists of hydrogen isotopes, deuterium and tritium and then with the temperature the hydrogen then fusing together creating more and more energy. A fusion bomb is more advantageous than fission bomb because there is a not a limit to size you can create a fusion bomb. The reason is because of physics! A fission bomb cannot be made bigger and bigger because you have to keep making casings bigger. The air plane that carries it will not be able to take off with the amount of weight it is limited to carry. Mass would not allow velocity to take off at a certain theta, it would have a negative result.

All these areas are uninhabitable and will be for a long time because of the surrounding radiation. Because energy is conserved, there still remains a ton of alpha particles in this area, which are very deadly if they come into contact with the human body.
