Federer, Clijsters advance at US Open

Former U-S Open champion Kim Clijsters of Belgium took on Viktoriya Kutuzova in the first round.

Former U-S Open champion Kim Clijsters of Belgium took on Viktoriya  Kutuzova in the first round.

Clijsters secured the first set with a powerful forehand, and won the opener six games to one, after just 27 minutes on the court.It continued to be a one-sided affair in the second set. Clijsters served out with an ace on the way to a 5-1 lead.

Winning match point, Clijsters is showed the field she is back in business, but her next challenge may be tougher. The Belgian faces 14th seeded Marion Bartoli in round two.
